A few words about why this felt so right.

Check out the world wide web for Christian discussion of the horror film. There's a trickle, but there should be a flood even if all we're counting is sales figures for the latest Tedd Dekker or Frank Peretti novel. Of course the truth is that Christian horror fans are anything but a dime a dozen. A quick survey of the crowd at almost any horror oriented fest, movie marathon, or convention finds a wide sampling of Christian beliefs and practices present and accounted for. So why is the web so quiet?

Let's face it. I have to ask myself as a fan, "Have I really done all I can to help my fellow believers out there stay focussed and edified as they travel through the darkness? The truth is I wonder if any of us can claim that. At this point I'm not even looking for a, "Well done good and faithful servant." from the Lord despite the fact that he's been unbelievably (literally!) gracious in opening doors for me to put on events, screen and discuss movies and acrue research materials.

You see I believe that not only are Christians out there but they are dicussing their interest in this genre- just not with each other.

So I hope this blog encourages us in good works, and healthy enjoyment of a type of storytelling and media experience that we have all claimed to have enjoyed and been encouraged by over the years and I also hope it brings much needed fellowship (and all that implies) to each of us

So what's your primary area interest? I personally enjoy horror in all its media forms and favor film. Here's a sampling of recent personal perusals

BOOKS/GRAPHIC NOVELS

The Walking Dead Graphic Hardcover Novels of Robert Kirkman
The Terror by Dan Simmons
World War Z by Max Brooks

RECENT MOVIES SEEN

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
Bubba HoTepp
1408
Black Sheep
Frankenstein the True Story made for TV miniseries
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
The Long Weekend
Primeval
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (56)
Parents
28 Days Later
Bloody Reunion
